{"id":1609,"date":"2024-03-11T17:27:56","date_gmt":"2024-03-11T17:27:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lavicheria.com\/?p=1609"},"modified":"2024-03-13T22:48:45","modified_gmt":"2024-03-13T22:48:45","slug":"cual-es-el-grado-de-alcohol-del-viche","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lavicheria.com\/en\/cual-es-el-grado-de-alcohol-del-viche\/","title":{"rendered":"What is the alcohol content of the viche?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our experience has shown us that viche is a strong distilled liquor made from sugar cane juice in the rural areas of the Colombian Pacific by black communities. Its personality and high alcohol content of viche makes it a unique and flavorful drink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>Official regulations: How high?<br><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lavicheria.com\/en\/analisis-sobre-la-reglamentacion-del-viche\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The official regulation, Resolution 113 of 2024,\u00a0<\/a>defines the health requirements for viche and sets the alcohol content value for viche between 31% and 51%. This means that for every 1000ml of viche, there must be between 310ml and 510ml of alcohol. Any value below 31% or above 51% cannot be officially called viche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>Practice vs the law<br><\/strong>In the last three years at La Vicher\u00eda, we have tasted around 300 viches. An estimated calculation considering\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lavicheria.com\/en\/mision-choco-la-larga-ruta-para-hacer-llegar-el-viche-a-la-ciudad\/\">our trips to municipalities with viche-making vocation<\/a>\u00a0in the four departments of the Pacific, our participation in the Petronio, visits to bars and restaurants, and all the viches that arrive at our office in Cali.<br>We can say that the vast majority of Viches fall between 38% and 48% alcohol content, and that's how we like it. We like it for three reasons: a) clear, light viche generally has a higher alcohol concentration; b) the ancestral artisan techniques that producers apply in the tradition often result in stronger viche; and c) it's perfect for mixology, a path we are betting on to make viche the national branded spirit, as a cocktail with a strong distilled spirit like mezcal, gin, Brazilian cacha\u00e7a, or viche has more personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1440 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1440\" controls poster=\"https:\/\/lavicheria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/portada.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/lavicheria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/alcohol-sabor-viche-1.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Viche is perfect for taking as a shot, a drink to invigorate the body, <em>(Infuse vigor into a living being)<\/em> and for the world of mixology due to its alcoholic and organoleptic characteristics that integrate well with other ingredients without dominating or getting lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a1<a href=\"https:\/\/lavicheria.com\/en\/tienda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Drink a viche,<\/a>experiment, and tell us about your experience!<br>But always in moderation.
