Viche, that liquid gem born from the depths of the Colombian Pacific, deserves to be valued and recognized to its fullest extent. Behind each distillation lies a story of effort, tradition, and resilience of the Afro-Colombian communities that deserve appreciation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the inaccessible lands of the Pacific, where roads are scarce and transportation is mainly by river and sea, are the homes of the brave viche producers. Places like Virud\u00f3 in Choc\u00f3 or San Bernardo de Saija in Cauca are reached after long journeys by boat, often facing harsh weather conditions and other challenges, both climatic and related to public safety. These women, guardians of ancestral knowledge, dedicate endless hours to the distillation of viche. But their work goes beyond simply producing a spirit. Each distillation is an act of love towards their land, their culture, and the generations that came before them. It is a tribute to the history and traditions that have shaped their identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, despite their hard work and dedication, many of these producers barely earn enough profits to subsist.<\/strong> Limited access to the market and the lack of appreciation for viche contribute to their efforts not being adequately rewarded. This not only affects their quality of life but also jeopardizes the continuity of an ancestral tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is time for the viche to be recognized to its full extent. It is time for it to be given the value it deserves, both culturally and economically. This implies not only paying a fair price for each bottle but also supporting and promoting sustainable production practices.<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
