NORA MORENO VALOY

Master Nora has been intimately close to viche since birth, as her mother was dedicated to distillation. She grew up on a farm nestled in the mountains, where learning the art of viche involved cutting sugarcane with a machete and paddling to the sugarcane fields. From a young age, Master Nora immersed herself in the task of grinding the cane in the mill. She absorber her mother's teachings and production secrets, such as determining the optimal fermentation point of the guarapo by listening to the bubbles generated by it, resting the ear against the pot. Nora has fond memories of the large glass demijohns and the commotion of the community on the days when they had to put out the stoves and hide the viche from the guards who chased it to confiscate and pour it out.

The only woman in a humble family of 9 siblings, she worked with great dedication in distillation tasks alongside her brothers to help her single mother. “(…) We harvested cane, carried it, and ground it because we became strong with these big hands alongside my brother 'Let's grind!' I would say."

Mother of 3 men and 2 women, she has taken the responsibility of supporting her family after the death of her husband and two of her other daughters, remembering them with gratitude for their company and turning viche into an important economic source for her household.

Nora Cenaida Moreno Valoy is a passionate producer who, amidst joy, meticulously cares for each stage of her viche process: from cleaning her still to assembling and sealing the pot. She ensures the quality and flavor of her product by tasting her viche in each distillation to make sure it has the unique and special taste she desires, without hesitating to repeat the entire process if it's not at the point to achieve perfection.

TASTING NOTES

Finish: largo y agradable.
