SUSANA MONTAÑO GRANJA
Viche Del Solar is a drink that has a special connection with the land. It was created by Susana Montaño Granja and Ruddy Ocoro Montaño, who migrated from their place of origin to the cities of Palmira, Candelaria, and Cali. The drink is cherished by their fellow countrymen and women because it reminds them of their homeland. It's also beloved by new consumers because it contains the history and knowledge of an entire family in its flavor.
The hamlet of San Bernardo de Saija in Timbiquí, located on the Pacific coast of Cauca, is where the Montaño Granja family has worked the land for generations. The town's inhabitants live off what the land and water provide them. The native pineapples are sweeter than Oro Miel, and the lulos have an enigmatic pale yellow color. Coconut palms are within reach of the thirsty traveler, as stated by Ruddy Ocoro Montaño, and amidst sugar cane crops, plantain hills, bananas, and the river, the family has always had a great interest in sugar cane crops. Sugar cane has been and continues to be an important source of joy, healing and celebration. Viche is created from the sugar cane, amidst laughter, and joy, and it's drank and shared in the courtyard of the house.
