In the inaccessible lands of the Pacific, where roads are scarce and transportation is mainly by river and sea, are the homes of the brave viche producers. Places like Virudó in Chocó or San Bernardo de Saija in Cauca are reached after long journeys by boat, often facing harsh weather conditions and other challenges, both climatic and related to public safety. However, despite their hard work and dedication, many of these producers barely earn enough profits to subsist. Limited access to the market and the lack of appreciation for viche contribute to their efforts not being adequately rewarded. This not only affects their quality of life but also jeopardizes the continuity of an ancestral tradition.

It is time for the viche to be recognized to its full extent. It is time for it to be given the value it deserves, both culturally and economically. This implies not only paying a fair price for each bottle but also supporting and promoting sustainable production practices..
